October 9 - 13

PHYSICS 20
Tue - We watched a Video on Hooke's Law.  We then did notes on Resonance, Wavelengths, Vibrations & Phase, as well as Requency and Period Examples.  Then students worked on completing Questions from their notes (Pg. 8).  DUE NEXT CLASS.
Wed - Corrected Frequency Worksheet from yesturday.  I did an example of dealing with determining Periods of Pendulums.  Assigned: Read Pg. 378-380 and do Practice Problems on Pg. 379 #6, 7, 8.  DUE NEXT CLASS.
Thur - no class
Fri - Corrected Pg. 379 Questions together as a class.  Then I put students into groups to discuss the Ch. 14.1 Section Review.  After that, students worked on Assignment Pg. 845 #14a-f.  DUE NEXT CLASS.

FP 10
Tue - Ch. 2.2: Using Tangent Ratio to Calculate Lengths.  We did a couple examples and then students worked on an assignment: Pg. 82 #3ac, 4ac, 5a, 6, 7, 8, 9.  DUE NEXT CLASS.
Wed - Reviewed what the Tangent Ratio actually is and the Pythagorean Theorem.  Then we had a Quiz.  At the end of class, I put students in groups to start discussing the 'Try This' on Pg. 90 of textbook.  Will continue this next class.
Thur - Continued working on the 'Try This' on Pg. 90 of their textbooks (in groups).  Then I introduced the Sine and Cosine Ratios.  I did an example and then assigned Pg. 95 #4,5,7,8,10.  DUE NEXT CLASS.
Fri - We discussed the group work from the last couple classes.  Then I did examples from Ch. 2.5: Using the Sine & Cosine Ratios to Calculate Length.  Assignment: Pg. 101 #3ac, 4ac, 5ab, 6, 7, 8, 9.  DUE NEXT CLASS.

FM 20
Tue - A brief discussion of where parallel lines and transversals are evident in students' lives.  Then moved on to Ch. 2.2: Angles Formed by Parallel Lines.  We did a couple examples and then students worked on assignment: Pg. 78 #2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12.  DUE NEXT CLASS.
Wed - We reviewed how to Prove Angles.  Then I gave a Quiz.  From there, I did a couple examples from Ch. 2.3. Assignment: Pg. 90 #2, 3.  DUE NEXT CLASS.
Thur - no class
Fri - We discussed the 'Problem Solving Strategies' Exercise that was due today.  Students who showed me that they worked on it got 5 out of 5.  This is an ongoing puzzle and the first student to email me the correct answer receives 2% added to their Final Mark.  Then we moved on and did another Example from Pg. 88 Ch. 2.3 (Proofs).  Assignment: Pg. 91 #7, 8, 11.  DUE NEXT CLASS. 

PRE-CALC 20
Tue - no class
Wed - no class
Thur - We went through notes for Ch. 1.5: Infinite Geometric Series.  I assigned all the questions for this section.  I assigned the Unit/Chapter Review from the Textbook because we have Unit 1 Test on Friday, October 19th.  We then corrected Section 1.1 together as a class and then students handed in their Assignments for Sections 1.2-1.3 for me to correct.  I handed back to them so they could study for UNIT TEST FRIDAY.
Fri - no class

WA 30
Tue - Projects Due: Students presented their project for Unit 2 - Creating a Wheelchair-Accessible Washroom pertaining to Tolerances and design.
Wed - Reviewed for the Unit 2 Test tomorrow.
Thur - Unit 2 Test.
Fri - Students started reading examples and doing the 'Build Your Skill' sections from the handed out Notes.  This whole booklet (Section 3.1) DUE NEXT CLASS.

IP 10
Tue - Students worked on Assignment #4: "I Am" Poem and then begam Assignment #5: "If I ran the World".  Will continue this next day.
Wed - Assignment #4, #5, and #6 from Duotang.
Thur - Students continued working on Assignment #6 and #7 - Personal Business Letters from their Word Processing Duo Tang.
Fri - Students Researched Jobs Available to them Involving Information Processing and then had to write a brief paragraph explaining their findings.
