November 26 - 30

PHYSICS 20
Mon - no class
Tue - I reviewed transparency, transluscent, and opaque concepts and examples.  Then we reviewed wavelengths and frequency of the colors of the rainbow.
Thur - we went to the computer lab where students researched information on the 'colors of the spectru'm and 'polarization'
Fri - Watched Mythbusters with Light experiments.

FP 10
Mon - Ch. 3.6 - Solving expressions of the form ax^2 + bx + c.  We did a bunch of examples together as a class.  Then I assigned #7-13 from this section.
Tue - continued working on yesturday's assignment.  It is DUE FRIDAY.
Thur - no class
Fri - Ch. 3.7 - Multiplying Polynomials.  I did a few examples and then studens began working on Pg. 186 #4ac, 5ace, 6a(ODD), 8ac, 9ac.  Unit 3 Test on thursday Dec. 6th.

Mon - no class 
Tue - Ch. 4.3 - The Ambiguous Case with the Sine Law.  We did 3 examples together and then students started working on assignment: Pg. 183 #1,3bdf which is due NEXT CLASS.
Thur - Worksheets for sections 4.1 and 4.3.  We will look at these next class.

PRE-CALC 20
Mon - Notes from Ch. 2.4.  Then I assigned Odd questions from Ch. 2.4 in TEXTBOOK.  For the next class, students corrected their Ch. 2 assignments then worked on Ch. 2.4 from their Workbook/Notes.  I also assigned the Workbook Chapter 2 Review.  Unit 2 Test next class.

Mon - continued working on our Group Game Project.  Tomorrow will be the last class to work on it. 
Tue - We did a Probability and Odds Review Quiz.  For the last half hour of class, students worked on their Game Project.
Thur - Finalizimg projects.

Mon - We started Exel Unit.  Students were introduced to Exel and then started practicing a couple quick exercises.  Once they were completed with this, they finished their Christmas Competition Picture from last friday. 
Tue - Started working on Exel Assignments Duo Tang.

November 19 - 23

PHYSICS 20
Mon - Lab - Pg. 431 Textbook.  We did a Lab to determine the Path of Light.  DUE 1 WEEK FROM TODAY.
Tue - We read through notes on 'Speed of Light' and then went to the computer lab to research Diffraction, White Light, Primary Colors, Secondary Colors, Pigments.
Wed - I let the students study for their 2 exams today in other courses, but students needed to finish their physics notes first.
Thur - students went to the computer lab to build a Crossword Puzzle for their notes that they made on Tuesday.

Mon - Ch. 3.5 - Polynomials of the Form x^2+bx+c.  We did 4 different types of examples and then I assigned Pg. 166 #7, 8a, 9ac for homework  - DUE NEXT CLASS.
Tue - no class
Wed - students continued working on previous day's assignment: Pg. 166 #10ac, 11aceg, 12aceg, 14aceg, 15ac, 18a, 19abc. DUE NEXT CLASS.
Thur - We corrected Pg. 166 assignment.  More factoring practice.  We started a worksheet in class then corrected it.

Mon - Continued working on assignment on Pg. 147 #3b,4,5,6b.  DUE NEXT CLASS.
Tue - Chapter Self-Test
Wed - corrected Ch. 3 assignments in class to review for the Unit 3 test tomorrow.

November 13 - 16

PHYSICS 20
Tue - We brain-stormed (in groups) different Sources of Light.  Then we started notes on Characteristics of Light.
Wed - We continued on with notes.  I did a couple examples to determine luminance.

Tue - We discussed Unit 2 Projects.  PROJECTS ARE DUE TOMORROW.  Then we did examples from Section 2.3: Square Roots, Cube Roots, and Perfect Squares.  Assigned 4ace, 5ace, 6ace, 7b, 8a, 9, 10.  DUE NEXT CLASS.
Wed - We corrected last day's assignment.  Then we did examples for Ch. 3.3: Common Factors of a Polynomial.  No assignment.

Tue - I proved the Cosine Law.  I did a couple examples using the Cosine Law.  I assigned #1 and 2 for this section.  DUE NEXT CLASS. 
Wed - We reviewed the Cosine Law and did an example together as a class.  Then students began working on an assignment for the majority of the class - Pg. 136 #3,4a,5b,6ac,7ac,8,13.  DUE NEXT CLASS.

Tue - We corrected Ch. 4.2 assignment.  Then we discussed Ch. 4.3: Odds and Probability.  We did a few examples together.  No assignment.
Wed - We did an excercise together as a class (and in groups) pertaining to Probability and Odds.  Then students started working on assignment Pg. 172 #1-7.  DUE NEXT CLASS.

Tue - We discussed how to address an envelope and how to type a report.  Students started working on 2 'envelopes' and then started typing a report where they had to fix some errors.  Will continue next class.
Wed - Students just continued working on their Resumes, Cover Letters, Envelopes, and Unbound Report Assignments.

Mon - We finished Ch. 3.1 together as a class to introduce the 'Sine Law'.  We then moved on to doing actual examples of the Sine Law together as a class.  I assigned Pg. 117 #2, 3ace, 4 for homework --> Must be completed for tomorrow.
Tue - The grade 10 class was still writing their math exam, so the grade 11 students went to gym class with Mr. Dickson.  By the end of class, we just reviewed and did 1 example of the Sine Law.

Mon - We continued on discussing our experiments from last class.  Then I did an example of dealing with Probabilities.  I assigned #1-8 from this section.

Mon - We discussed how to do a 'Cover Letter'.  Then we went to the computer lab and started researching a job from the Leader Post/Star Phoenix websites that we want to apply for and started writing our cover letter and finishing our Resume.  To get students to understand the Theory of 'How to do a Resume and Cover Letter', for homework they have to contact 5 DIFFERENT people who do hiring and research 1) How they decide who gets an Interview, 2) How many pages a Resume should be, 3) How many References they require (5 versus 3), 4) How long they prefer a Cover Letter to be, and 5) Do they prefer to have history in Chronological order with the most current information 1st or last.
Tue - We worked on finishing our Resume and Cover Letter (after we handed in yesturday's assignment.
